Behind every great brand is a story, and YayBox began with a simple belief from its founder, Sam: thoughtful gifts shouldn’t come with high-street price tags.
Based in East Sussex, Sam built his professional background working in retail within the world of high-end outdoor fashion. Over the years, he became known for his strong organisational skills and his natural ability to connect with customers. Helping people find exactly what they needed — and making the experience enjoyable — became something he genuinely loved.
But alongside that experience came an idea that kept returning: great gifts shouldn’t feel out of reach.
Sam noticed that many people wanted to buy meaningful presents for friends, family, or colleagues, but were often put off by the cost on the high street. That’s where the idea for YayBox was born — a place where people could find thoughtful, fun, and creative gifts that still felt affordable.
Launching YayBox online became a major turning point. What began as a small idea soon started growing into something bigger. Through dedication, creativity, and a lot of hard work, Sam has been building a brand that people connect with — offering gifts that help celebrate life’s little moments.
But Sam’s journey into entrepreneurship is shaped by something far more personal.
In his mid-twenties, he faced and overcame cancer. The experience changed his outlook on life in powerful ways. It strengthened his resilience, deepened his appreciation for people, and reinforced a belief that life’s moments — big and small — deserve to be celebrated.
That outlook now sits at the heart of YayBox. Every product is chosen with the same goal in mind: helping someone make another person smile.
Outside of running the business, Sam enjoys music, socialising, TV, and anything that sparks creativity. Friends and colleagues describe him as honest, hardworking, reliable, a great listener — and always good for a laugh.
Looking ahead, Sam’s vision for YayBox is ambitious. The goal is to grow the brand internationally and build a passionate team that shares the same values: creativity, positivity, and bringing joy through thoughtful gifting.
